Pete Oliver
Pete Oliver
About the Teacher

Pete Oliver has been playing chess since he was five years old, having learned through the after school programs at PS 234 (where he also honed a decent jump shot and gained the confidence to cross the West Side Highway on foot). Not only does Pete love to ham up the Chess@3 cast of characters (he might do his Chef Squishyfeet impersonation for you at a party, if you ask politely), but you may hear him chopping and shaping stories from the likes of Shakespeare, Pushkin, and bad 90’s movies to express different ideas about chess. Pete’s favorite thing about chess is that it trains the muscles in his mind that enable him to be more organized – you should see his shoe tree!
